Police are now treating the death of a Hartlepool man as a murder investigation.

The man who was being treated in James Cook University Hospital for serious head injuries which occurred on Friday 18th November at his home address in Rydal Street Hartlepool died on Monday and police are now treating his death as a murder enquiry.
The man has been named as 56-year-old Stanley Burgon.
A post mortem has taken place and further tests are to be carried out.
A 32-year-old female and a 42-year-old male arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail and enquiries are continuing.
