Mum of viral Middlesbrough tot says signing Santa made her Christmas
Suzanne Williams' three-year-old daughter Mali was an internet sensation when filmed signing with Santa.
The mam of a Middlesbrough tot with communication problems says someone using sign language to speak to her makes a world of difference.
Suzanne Williams' daughter Mali struggled to speak to a santa in the Cleveland Centre over the weekend, but got a pleasant surprise when he started to use sign language.
The three-year-old has been learning the skill at the Cleveland Centre at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and tested out her new skills on Santa.
The video of the exchange has gone viral, getting almost 900,000 views on Youtube and being picked up by American media websites.
Suzanne says she hopes more people will be encouraged to learn the skill to help people like Mali, or children with hearing difficulties communicate properly.
She said: "How wonderful, not just for Mali but for all children with speech difficulties, hearing difficulties.
"It's their little idol this time of year, going to see Father Christmas, and for him to be able to communicate, it's amazing."
