#Missing - Paul Kerrison - One Year On
One year on from his disappearance, the family of missing Middlesbrough dad Paul Kerrison have made an emotional plea for any new information.
The 31-year-old was last seen on Saturday 25th October last year, near to the junction of Longbeck Lane and Grewgrass Lane area of New Marske.
His sister Becky Kerrison read a statement at Errington Woods this morning, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his whereabouts.
They chose this location to highlight the difficulties of searching such a ragged and rural terrain.
She said:
"The last year has been living hell for us.
It has been so difficult to carry on with everyday life as Paul is always in our thoughts.
We are in constant turmoil wondering where Paul is.
Paul would never spend a night away from his family but has gone from our lives the past year."
The police received a number of reported sightings from across the country, but all CCTV enquiries found it wasn't Paul.
A large-scale search operation was conducted by Cleveland Police, including the use of mountain rescue teams and the Air Support Unit.
All homes in New Marske were given leaflets by officers and empty properties and outbuildings were searched.
Sergeant Mark Earl from Cleveland Police says the location of the search has proved difficult.
He said:
"In thirteen years of policing, I've never known such a large-scale search operation.
The topography and the landscape is so rugged and hard to search, it's made it a real feat for us to do.
At the moment what we've tried to do is intelligence-led search and where we think Paul would've gone."
Anyone who may have information regarding Paul’s whereabouts is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
