Middlesbrough student tasered after resisting arrest and injuring police officer

A Middlesbrough college student has been tasered after a disturbance at the campus earlier today.
Police were called out around 1:30pm, to reports of a disturbance in a public area of the college, and concern for a student who was refusing to leave the site.
The student was repeatedly warned by staff and the officer re his conduct and told to leave the college which he failed to do, resulting in his arrest.
During arrest he resisted the officer, posing an on-going threat to staff and students present, and injuring the officer. This resulted in a taser deployment in line with national current use of force guidelines.
Cleveland police have confirmed he didn't suffer any adverse affects from the taser,
The boy was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, on suspicion of a Section 5 Public Order offence, and on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. He will be taken to custody and questioned
