Man arrested in connection with serious stabbing in Middlesbrough

A man has been arrested by Cleveland Police in connection with the stabbing of a man in Middlesbrough.

The incident took place on Central Avenue in the town at 2:25 p.m. on Thursday (April 4th), and left a man with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the incident, taking the man to James Cook University Hospital for serious injuries to his hand.

Thankfully, the victim was later released following treatment, but investigations into the incident are now ongoing.

Police have now arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the stabbing and was remanded in police custody.

After being initially questioned by police, he was later bailed as investigators continue their enquiries.

Meanwhile, the force is continuing to appeal for information into the stabbing and is urging anyone who may have any relevant information to come forward.
