Middlesbrough man jailed for drug offences and having a knife
Police say the 21-year-old says he'll spend the festive period behind bars
A man has been sentenced for drug offences and for having a knife in Middlesbrough.
21-year-old Denis Tokar, of Surrey Street, was given two years in jail on Friday 22nd December.
He was found in possession of crack cocaine estimated to be worth around £740 on Ayresome Street, after patrols were carried out by Proactive Team officers on the 23rd of November this year.
On the of 3rd December, Tokar was again stopped by officers and was searched on Parliament Road, where he was found in possession of a lock knife.
Cleveland Police's Sergeant John Sproson said: “We are pleased that Denis Tokar was sentenced and wasn’t able to cause misery to our local communities by selling drugs on the streets of Middlesbrough over the Christmas period, and won’t be able to do so whilst he serves his prison sentence.
“Anyone who has concerns about drug dealing in our communities is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously, so that action can be taken.”
