Police enquiries continue after linked reports of burglaries at Stockton homes

Detectives investigating a report of a burglary in Ludham Grove, Elm Tree in Stockton at the weekend are linking this with another alleged incident.

A 35 year old man was arrested last night, after an elderly person reported their house in Newstead Avenue had been broken into over the weekend, while they were not at home. They reported several items missing, including sentimental jewellery.

He has now been released under investigation, while enquiries continue.

Detectives are linking this incident with reports of a burglary in Ludham Grove, Elm Tree which also took place over the weekend and are questioning the arrested man while enquiries continue.

Both incidents were reported to police by vulnerable, elderly residents.

Officers are also actively looking for a second person who they would like to speak with. They are also appealing for anyone with dashcam or door footage of the period in question to come forward.
