Man arrested as pair reportedly assaulted near Middlesbrough

Cleveland Police are looking to identify a man and woman to check their welfare

A man's been arrested after two people were reportedly assaulted near Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police were called by a member of the public to Henry Taylor Court, Ormesby, at around 10:30pm on Saturday.

A man and woman, who it's believed are aged in their sixties, were reportedly assaulted, although they did not remain at the scene.

Police say they would like to speak with the pair to check on their welfare and as part of their investigation.

A 25-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of assault and driving offences.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information regarding the man and woman's identity is being asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 142771.
