An 18-year-old man from Darlington has died in a crash on the A66.

An 18-year-old man from Darlington has died in a crash on the A66.

Cleveland Police said the car he was driving came off the road at Long Newton and collided with a barrier just after midnight on Wednesday (15th April).

The man was taken to hospital where he died.

An 18-year-old woman who was a passenger was uninjured.

Officers would appeal to anyone who may have seen the collision or anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision to contact PC Paul Dixon from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 062038.
