Grangefield Academy is offering tours around its 64-year-old building before it's replaced next April by a new state of the art school.
It opened in 1951 and boasts Hollywood directors Ridley and Tony Scott and award-winning author Pat Barker among its alumni.
The school had a number of names during it's life, including Grangefield Grammar School for Boys and Girls, Grangefield Comprehensive School, Sheraton Grange, The Grange, Grangefield School and Technology College.
Staff are expecting over 800 visitors today - with a waiting list of 140 reserves.
Headteacher Nikki Gibb says Grangefield is particularly special to her.
She intended to take up a short-term role when the school went into special measures, but something about the school made her stay.
She said: "We've got a momentous year coming up.
"We've got the traditions of the old build leaving us and the modern state of the art facilities opening up.
"People want to come and see, and reminisce about the time that they had here."
