Officers are releasing images of a man they want to speak with following a report of a rape in Middlesbrough's Albert Park.

The incident happened around 4am on Wednesday 11th September, when a woman reported being raped in the park and the suspect made off from the scene.

The identity of the man in the images is being sought, as it is believed he may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan O’Donoghue from Middlesbrough CID said:

“I would appeal to the man in these images to contact us as he could potentially assist with our ongoing enquiries.

“Anyone who may know his identity is also asked to contact police, by calling Cleveland Police on 101.

“A number of enquiries are being carried out in order to trace the person responsible, as we continue to support the woman involved in this incident and carry out additional patrols in the area around Albert Park to help reassure the local community.”

Police would appeal for the man to get in touch, or anyone who knows who he is, by contacting Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting reference number 175064.
