A 22-year-old man has been seriously injured in a stabbing at the Belle Vue Social Club on Kendal Road in Hartlepool.

Police were called shortly after 6pm on Sunday 23rd November following reports of the incident. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance where his condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.

Detectives say the stabbing appears to have been a targeted attack and have reassured people in the area that there is no wider threat to the community.

Investigations are underway, and police are urging anyone with information or footage relating to the incident to contact them on 101 quoting reference SE25224944.
