Hartlepool man charged with murder

Police investigating the murder of 56-year-old Stanley Burgon from Hartlepool have charged a 43-year-old man from Hartlepool with murder.

He will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 32-year-old woman previously arrested on suspicion of assault has been released with no further action.

Officers began an investigation after they were called to Rydal Street in Hartlepool on Friday 18th November last year, following reports of a man with serious head injuries.

Stanley was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he later died.
