Three man charged with assault in hit-and-run incident in Hartlepool

The men, aged between 20 and 48, will appear in court on Monday

Three men have been charged with varying degrees of assault following a hit-and-run incident in Hartlepool.

A 40-year-old man was struck by a car as he tried to cross the road at Davison Drive on February 17th.

The incident left the victim with injuries to his back and pelvis, as well as internal injuries that were treated in hospital.

Working on the case, the Hartlepool Criminal Investigation Department investigated the incident and arrested three men on suspicion of assault.

Now, a 20-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to commit Section 18 assault, with Section 18 assault and with criminal damage.

A second man, aged 22, was also charged with conspiracy to commit Section 18 assault, and a third man aged 48, was also charged with both conspiracy to commit Section 18 assault and criminal damage.

All three men have been remanded in police custody until they appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Monday, July 22nd).
