Teen injured in Middlesbrough hammer attack

Detectives investigating an assault on a boy with a weapon – reported to be a hammer – are appealing for witnesses and CCTV or dashcam.

The incident was reported to have happened between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday February 12 in the area of Ashford Avenue, Middlesbrough.

Police attended a report of a 15-year-old male who was assaulted by an unknown male – a description of him is limited but he is described as white, average build, around 5ft 8 inches tall.

The victim suffered a large cut to his face and a facial fracture, requiring hospital treatment.
