It’s after we investigated online and found this black phone case shaped like a gun for just 15p.
But Durham Police and Crime Commissioner Ron Hogg said carrying an imitation firearm like this is an offence and the real consequences can be much more deadly.
"I know from my own long experience of an incident in London where a man with a handgun-shaped cigarette lighter was actually shot dead," he said.
"A police officer when confronted with a situation only has a split second to make a decision.
"I can not believe we have got these on the market.
"If such a phone is pulled out in public it may be **misconstrued by individuals in a room, in a pub or on a street, which could lead to an armed police response."
