A number of arrests have been carried out today (19th October) in connection with alleged offences in the Hemlington area.

Four youths - a 16-year-old girl and three boys aged 13, 14 and 16 - from the area have been arrested in connection with alleged offences in the local area.

On Sunday 10th October around 5:50pm, police on Fonteyn Court reportedly had glass bottles thrown at them, whilst engaging with some younger children in the area. The young children were removed from the location to prevent them being harmed and a 16-year-old male and 16-year-old female have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

A 14-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of criminal damage, racially motivated criminal damage, theft and attempted theft after reports of alleged incidents including a brick thrown through the window of a bus on Casshouse Road, theft of wheelie bins which were reportedly set alight, residential windows smashed and damage to a pizza shop on 13th October

A 13-year-old boy was also arrested this morning on suspicion of aggravated public order, three public order offences and harassment.
