Officers were called to Frederick Nattrass Primary School in Norton this morning after what is believed to be an artillery round was brought into the school grounds.

Police were called at around 10:50am (Wednesday 26th March).

Children and staff members were evacuated from the school as a precautionary measure, along with members of the public at nearby businesses.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD) removed a suspected artillery round.

Officers say the cordon has now been removed and we would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst this incident was dealt with quickly and safely.
