Business leaders from across Teesside were told that working with Durham Tees Valley Airport will help to bring jobs and investment to the region, in an event at the airport this morning.

Airport Chairman, Robert Hough, welcomed the progress the airport has already made on its master plan - unveiling the results of a new £250,000 terminal improvement programme.

The group also celebrated the arrival of airline, Loganair, and the introduction of a KLM service to Amsterdam.

General Manager for KLM UK and Ireland, Benedicte Duval, said:

"We welcome the launch of the Flying for the Future campaign.

"Close partnerships between stakeholders, businesses and airports gives us real confidence and it is clear from today that there is a strong level of support for the airport in the region."

It comes after Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, announced yesterday that Tees Valley had been longlisted for a new logistics hub linking to Heathrow Airport.
