County Durham Man Describes Avalanche
A County Durham man says the avalanche on Mount Everest was like a “tsunami of white”.
Nick Talbot from Hamsterley Forest was hoping to climb the mountain when an earthquake hit Nepal.
The 38-year-old suffered cracked ribs and hypothermia.

Nick had travelled to Nepal hoping to become the first man with Cystic Fibrosis to climb Mount Everest.
He was in his tent when he heard a large crack and then was hit by the avalanche.
Currently he is in the capital Kathmandu waiting for a flight out.
