This evening (Monday 27 June) at 7pm, a controlled demolition will take place to bring down a number of structures on the Teesworks site.

As part of the ongoing demolition programme, the West and East Chimneys of the Redcar Coke Ovens will be levelled by explosives. In addition, two battery bunkers, high-level conveyor and a junction house, will also come down.

The demolition will be carried out by local experts Thompsons of Prudhoe.

Photography and film will be shared following the blowdown.
