Appeal for Witnesses to Burglary in Yarm and Attempted Burglary in Thornaby

Police are appealing for information after an attempted break-in at an address in Thornaby and a burglary at an address in Yarm.

A burglary occurred at an address on The Larun Beat in Yarm between 11.55am on Thursday 28th September and 12.15am on Friday 29th September.

Three males are believed to have forced entry to the property and stole items including jewellery and a watch. They then got into a dark coloured Audi A4 or A5 on The Larun Beat, which was being driven by a fourth person.

The three males are described as white and aged in their late teens or twenties. One of the suspects is described as being of medium build, wearing a khaki green coloured hooded top and dark trousers.

The second male is described as wearing dark trousers and a navy hooded top and of medium build.

The third male was of larger build and was wearing a grey hooded top with a zip. All three were wearing baseball caps.

At around 3.25pm on Friday 29th September three males were disturbed attempting to break in to a property on Cranwell Close in Thornaby. Again the males were seen using a dark coloured Audi.

Officers are not ruling out a link between the two incidents.

Detectives would like to appeal to anyone who may have information regarding either of these incidents to contact Detective Sergeant Louise Sproson from Stockton Operational Crime Team on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
