Two properties in Stockton were raided this morning as part of a Christmas crackdown on drug dealing and burglary across Teesside.

Five people were arrested by Cleveland Police at a property on Londonderry Road in Eastbourne at around 10am this morning.

Four were arrested on suspicion of burglary, and a fifth was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of Class A drugs with the intent to supply.

It's a great result for Cleveland Police, who've been running Operation Blizzard since last week ahead of Christmas.

Detective Inspector Stephen Cappel said: "Just in the run up to Christmas people have obviously got their houses full of items they've probably got for Christmas.

"It makes it easy pickings for some burglars.

"People will go out and commit these crimes, and them swap these items for drugs."

So far more than a dozen people have been arrested under the Operation.
