CCTV Footage Released after Car is Set Alight
Police are releasing CCTV footage of an incident in which a car was set on fire on Kilburn Road in Hardwick, Stockton.
The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday 24th January.
The person in the footage is seen to approach the vehicle and is believed to douse it in liquid before setting the offside front and offside rear of the vehicle alight. They then make off on foot. Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused.
At around 3.10am, around twenty minutes before the incident, a taxi enters Kilburn Road. It is possible that the suspect used a taxi to get to the street.
A 43-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson. Both remain on bail pending further enquiries.
