Catterick veteran recognised for outstanding fundraising skills
Justin Henderson has been identified by JustGiving for smashing his fundraising targets.
A Catterick veteran has been named one of the most successful fundraisers of 2015....and he's still at it!
Former army postal couier Justin Henderson received help and support from charity Help for Heroes after he broke his back in a freak accident.
In return, the father of two has been raising money for the charity by taking part in bike rides across the UK.
He aimed to take part in the 2015 Hero Ride from Catterick to Windsor and set a target of £1,000.
After raising more almost £4,000 and smashing his target by over 250 per cent, Justin was singled out as one of the top 1 per cent of fundraisers in the UK.
And the keen rider is showing no signs of slowing down.
He's been given a place on the Help for Heroes Big Battlefield Bike Ride in June, which covers 350 miles in Northern France in just FIVE days.
He's already passed his initial target of £4,000 and has now upped it to £10,000 with four months to go.
The part-time receptionist will be fundraising at the MetroCentre on April 2nd with his team.
He said: “I am like a dog with a bone – once I get hold of an idea, I just run with it and keep on running for as long as I can.
“And the great thing is that, at the same time as fundraising, I am getting in a lot of training at the same time.
"On a good day, I can pedal up to 40-60 miles AND chat to the generous passing public at the same time!”
