Cleveland fire brigade has hit out at whoever set fire to a number of wooden litter bins alongside Saltburn promenade.

In a post online, they say the "reckless act of anti-social behaviour" not only prevented firefighters from attending real emergencies , but also ruined one of the most picturesque views in the North East.

They believe the fires were set deliberately.

Crews from Saltburn and Skelton Fire Stations were called in the early hours of this morning (21st June) to extinguish multiple bin fires which were alight along the promenade.

Cleveland Fire Brigade say they take deliberate fire setting very seriously.
