Arrests made after Boxing Day football match.

Four males were arrested following alleged disorder at a match between Spennymoor Town Football Club and Darlington Football Club on Boxing Day.

Two men supporting Darlington, aged 41 and 29, and two teenage boys, who were supporting Spennymoor, were arrested following the incident which saw several people allegedly assaulted and damage caused to property.

The teenagers and 29-year-old were all arrested on suspicion of affray while the 41-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and assault on an emergency worker.

The arrests come as the teams met again yesterday in Darlington.

Officers made sure extra measures were in place as the game ended 1-1 at at Blackwell Meadows.

Durham Constabulary remarked that the disturbance on Boxing Day was "unacceptable and officers have been working closely with both clubs to identify suspects and make arrests".

The game on New Year's Day had the club overseeing the security and safety of spectators and police officers were in the area to ensure fans were able to safely enjoy the game
