Further arrests made in Guisborough murder investigation
Police have named the victim as 62 year old Alan Garbutt
Further arrests have been made by Cleveland police, as part of an investigation into the death of a man in Guisborough this week.
Officers were called out to an alleged incident at Helmsley House in Guisborough around 2:20am on Monday morning, where they found Alan Garbutt, 62, from the East Cleveland area.
Alan had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alan’s family today paid tribute to him, saying: “Our beloved dad, grandad and brother will be missed dearly but will never be forgotten.”
The family have asked for privacy whilst they grieve in peace.
Further arrests have now been made in connection with the investigation into Alan’s death.
A 16-year-old boy, two men aged 28, a 43-year-old man and a 47-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and all remain in police custody at this time.
A 45-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
A 23-year-old woman also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remains in police custody at this time.
