Police have released an E-fit of a man they want to speak with in connection with a suspicious incident involving a nine and a ten-year-old girl in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 1, at 7:30pm on Roworth Road, Thorntree, when the man made inappropriate comments and touched the girls’ hair and faces.

One of the girls tried to run away and the man grabbed her and pulled her back and called her an inappropriate name.

Both of the girls managed to run away and they were both unharmed.

The man is described as white, in his 50s, between 5 foot 6” – 5 foot 10” tall, of very skinny build with greying hair which is receding on top, and a grey moustache.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a pink jacket (no logos or markings), blue jeans and white trainers with blue stripes on the sides. The man also wears glasses, has a local accent and he is hunched over when he walks.

The girls have seen this man before as it is believed he has previously made inappropriate gestures towards the girls.

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who believed they may know the identity of the men in the E-fits are asked to contact Detective Constable Kate Brodie on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
