Appeal following death of 17-year-old boy in single-vehicle A19 collision

Cleveland Police are appealing for information following a single-vehicle collision that left a 17-year-old driver dead at the scene.

Police were reported of the collision at around 11:15pm on Saturday 13 December on the A19 southbound between the A179 and the Elwick turn off.

The driver is believed to have been a 17-year-old boy who had suffered significant head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was driving a silver Ford C-Max.

The family are being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone who witnessed the event and holds any information is being urged to step forward to police in order to support their investigation.
