Police are appealing to trace a driver following a collision in Middlesbrough.

The 24 year old's family are calling for a murder investigation to be launched.

The collision took place on Gypsy Lane, near to the Brunton Arms Public House, in Nunthorpe, around 3:50pm on Thursday 27th May.

The driver of the vehicle did stop at the scene, however, his details were not left. He is described as a white male, aged in his fifties, and the vehicle is believed to be a silver Hyundai.

An 18-year-old male pedestrian suffered a broken wrist and cuts and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

The driver himself, or anyone who may know the identity of the driver, is asked to contact PC Lee Benson from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 85488.
