The family of the missing 42 year old have urged the public to come forward with new information, one year to the day since he was last seen.

Andrew, 42, from Stockton, was last seen on 28th October 2020 on Norton Road, close to the Buffs Social Club, at around midday.

Since his disappearance, a team of detectives dedicated to the investigation have been working to try to find out what happened to him while multiple searches have been carried out as part of the inquiry into finding Andrew.

As part of the investigation, there have been house to house enquiries, CCTV trawls and open land searches of both private and commercial premises, including the use of the drone, National Police Air Service and specially trained search officers.

Cleveland Police launched a murder inquiry based on information available to detectives at the time, and whilst officers still believe that Andrew may have come to harm, they are keeping an open mind as to what may have happened to him.

Two men were previously arrested on suspicion of murder, however, they were later released without charge.

Now, one year on, police continue to appeal for information relating to Andrew’s disappearance, and would urge people to come forward and call them with any information, no matter how small it may seem, as it could be crucial to their inquiries.

"I still have your Christmas presents from last year"

Andrew’s mum, Trisha Stones, said: “Andrew, please come home. I want you home. I really, really miss you. I really want you back. I still have your Christmas presents from last year. If anyone has any information or knows anything, please come forward to police.”

David Stones, Andrew’s father, said: “Andy, it’s now a year since you went missing, if you can see or hear this I want you to desperately get in touch with me, your mum, or the police. Nothing is unfixable, you can talk to me and your mum about anything and we can try to sort things out.

“Always know that you have a mum, dad, sisters and brother who care for you, and we will continue to love you no matter what. Although you’re a grown man you will always be our son. I would also like to appeal to anyone out there who knows anything to please get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers.”

"We remain focussed on finding out what happened to him"

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Shaun Page, said: “A year has now passed and Andrew’s disappearance has obviously had a massive effect on his family and friends.

“We remain focussed on finding out what has happened to him and continue to appeal to anyone who has information regarding Andrew’s disappearance to call us. Someone must know what happened to him and I would urge those people to contact us or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”

Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.

Independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111, or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
