15-year-old found unresponsive on wasteland in Middlesbrough

Police were called on the evening of Tuesday 11th October by ambulance staff who were treating a 15-year-old male who was unresponsive at the time, on wasteland to the rear of Unity City Academy on Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough.

The boy was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he remains this morning in a ‘conscious and stable’ condition.

Officers have cordoned off the area whilst an investigation takes place to establish what happened prior to the boy being treated by ambulance staff.

Detective Inspector Jon Tapper, from Cleveland Police Major Crime Team, said: “Ambulance staff contacted police after a member of the public called them to report an unconscious male on wasteland on Ormesby Road. We are now investigating the circumstances leading up to him being found and we would appeal for anyone with information to contact us.”
