David Beckham embarrassed his eldest son Brooklyn in front of millions of viewers on Monday night with a story about his first date.
The former England and Manchester United footballer was a guest on his friend James Corden’s US chat show The Late Late Show where he recounted the tale of the first time his son took out a girl.
With a red-faced Brooklyn looking on in horror from the audience, David revealed he sat in on the date from a few tables away. Awkward!
Asked by James whether his son was now dating, David laughed: “Yup, that’s happening. He’s going to hate me for this.”
He added: “I’m fine with it because on his first date when he was about 14 and half, Victoria was actually in London and it was Valentine’s Day and he said ‘I’d love to take this girl to dinner’ and I said ‘OK great’.
“We took him to a small sushi bar, he sat at the bar and I sat about five tables back.”
David then joked: “By the way my daughter is four years old and when she gets to that age I will be sat closer than that!”
Poor Brooklyn.
