Shakira Is First Celeb To Smash 100million Facebook Likes Barrier!

Shakira has become the first celebrity to smash the 100million ‘likes’ barrier on Facebook.

Thanks to her huge international following, the Columbian star has now amassed an incredible 100,716,787 fans on the social networking site.

That incredible figure far exceeds Rihanna in second spot (91.9million like) and Eminem down in third (89million likes).

To celebrate the occasion, Shakira posted a video to thank her fans, saying: “100million friends on Facebook. That is incredible! Thank you so much for your support, for your loyalty, for your love. It’s unbelievable. Thank you so much.

Shakira has since posted with stats about the 100million followers – including one saying ‘Joining hands, Shakira fans would wrap around the world four times!’

Among the first to congratulate Shakira was Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg who said: "Congrats! What an amazing milestone for an amazing person."

Facebook currently has 1,310,000,000 active users meaning that 1 in every 13 people using the site ‘likes’ the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer.

Although Shakira is the undisputed Queen of Facebook she’s only the 12th most followed celebrity on Twitter with 26.1million fans.

Katy Perry leads the Twitter pile with 54.6million followers ahead of Justin Bieber (53million), Barack Obama (44.2million), Taylor Swift (42million) and Lady Gaga (41.6million).
