Robbie Williams to replace Louis Walsh on The X Factor?
If newspaper reports are to be believed
Just days after Dermot O’Leary announced he’s leaving The X Factor, it’s now being reported that Louis Walsh is set to be axed from the show.
The Irish music mogul has been a mainstay on the show since its inception in 2004 but according to the Daily Star, Simon Cowell now wants to axe Louis.
“It is not 100% finalised yet but Simon knows he needs to make the show current and credible and Louis no longer ticks that box,” a source told the paper.
“It is hard for him personally as they are great friends. But the decision is all but done."
Ominously they added: "Everyone in power has agreed it is time Louis went."
The paper added that bona fide music icon Robbie Williams is being lined up to replace Louis on the ITV talent show.
It’s widely expected that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Mel B will be returning to the series alongside the main man himself Simon Cowell.
Last Friday, Dermot O’Leary made the announcement that after eight years at the helm.
"After eight wonderful years on The X Factor it's time for me to move on," Dermot said in a statement.
"I'd like to thank ITV, Simon Cowell, The X Factor family and particularly the viewers, all of whom have been a big part of my life for so long."
