Now all the excitement of the World Cup has passed things, are getting to normal, and former footballer Rio Ferdinand has recently been reunited with his girlfriend Kate Wright, who stayed in the UK to look after Rio's children, Lorenz, Tate and Tia.
Taking to Instagram, Rio posted a cute photo of the couple praising his girlfriend. He captioned the photo, 'Baaaaaack with this 👸🏼 Thank you for being this strong & wonderful woman you are while holding things together at home with the kids while I’ve been grafting 😉 There would have been loads a smiles, laughs & tears between u all but already I can see the bond between you all is stronger. They are filled with happiness now, and a big part of thats down to your love and hard work you put into them everyday. ❤ you x' sic
The second photo posted at the same time, sees the couple joking around, with Kate sticking her tongue out, whilst Rio goes to kiss his girlfriend on the head. Cute!

Rio and Kate have been dating for some time following the devastating loss of Rio's wife, and mum of his children, Rebecca Ellison to cancer in 2015. After going public with their relationship last year, things got a bit more serious for Rio and Kate last November, when Kate moved into Rio's family home with his three children.
Since then, the couple have posted photos of themselves with Rio's children on social media, with Rio telling the Daily Star he is "proud" of Kate for doing such an "amazing job" as his children's stepmother. He went on to say, "She has dealt with it in a mature fashion, in a majestic sort of way."

Back in April this year, Kate was praised for her emotional message after Rio won a TV BAFTA for his documentary Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad, which he made following the sad death of his wife three years ago.
After paying tribute to his late wife during his acceptance speech, Rio was praised by a number of viewers, and Kate penned an emotional message to her boyfriend. Taking to her Instagram account, the former TOWIE star shared a photo of a beaming Rio and wrote, 'My baby won a bafta!!! Overwhelmed with emotion for you... Feels strange to be happy through winning something through sadness, but I’m so happy for you, for raising awareness and helping others. You are amazing, here is to the future , but always keeping the past in our hearts. I love you ❤️'. sic
After her death, Rio admitted Rebecca's dying wish was for him to be happy and find love again, as she didn't want him 'alone and miserable'. Since Rio and Kate's relationship became public the reality star has made the decision to take a step back from the showbiz world.
