Pink To Perform At The Oscars This Sunday!
She joins Pharrell Williams and U2 at the star-studded event
One of the undisputed greatest performers in pop music, Pink, will bring her stunning live spectacle to The Oscars in Hollywood on Sunday (2nd March).
Announcing the news on Twitter, the 34-year-old singer – real name Alecia Moore – wrote: “Big news!!! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy for inviting me to perform on the #Oscars on March 2nd!! #holycow”
Making reference to Pink’s stunning acrobatics at The Grammys in January, Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres said: “Big news! @Pink is performing at the #Oscars! I don't know what she has planned, but I'm bringing my safety net just in case.”
Pink joins the previously confirmed performers including U2 (performing ‘Ordinary Love’ from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), Pharrell Williams (singing ‘Happy’ from Despicable Me 2), Karen O (‘The Moon Song’ from Her) at the star-studded Dolby Theatre ceremony.
Grammys producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron added: "We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time.
"She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast.”
American Hustle and Gravity lead The Oscars nomination charge with 10 prestigious nods each.
