Pharrell Williams’ infamous oversized Grammy Awards hat is up for sale on eBay.

Four days after being listed on the auction site, the Vivienne Westwood ‘Mountain Hat’ has already reached $12,500 (£7,517) with almost a week to go.

All profits from the sale go directly to Pharrell’s charity From One Hand to Another that helps underprivileged kids around the globe ‘by giving them the tools and resources to meet their unique potential and empower them to nurture curiosity by learning through new technologies, arts, media and motivation!’

Announcing the sale over the weekend, 40-year-old Pharrell tweeted: "We started my hat auction at $200 (the price I paid for it) and it's already up to over 10K?"

When he debuted it at The Grammys, Pharrell’s gargantuan brown hat immediately sparked an Internet meme with several Twitter parody accounts set up paying homage to the fashion item.

One account - @Pharrellhat – has over 20,000 followers and features dozens of hilarious Photoshops.

Pharrell revived the hat at The BRIT Awards last week where he performed ‘Get Lucky’ alongside music legend Nile Rodgers.

Pharrell is also on the live line-up at The Oscars in Hollywood on Sunday where he’ll perform his number one smash ‘Happy’ from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.
