Miley Cyrus Axes Gig 30 Minutes Before It's Due To Start
She was forced to pull out due to illness
Miley Cyrus was forced to pull out of a US tour date last night just 30 minutes before she was due to go on stage.
An 18,000 strong sell-out crowd had gathered at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina for the latest leg of the controversial Bangerz World Tour but were left disappointed when Miley didn’t show.
A last minute statement on the arena’s website confirmed Miley was ill and the show will unfortunately not be rescheduled for a later date.
It reads: "Miley Cyrus - CANCELED. Due to illness, Miley Cyrus' 'Bangerz' tour date scheduled for tonight, April 7, at Time Warner Cable Arena Charlotte has been cancelled. Cyrus has been diagnosed with the flu and doctors have ordered her to rest.”
Last Wednesday Miley broke down in tears performing Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’ in Boston when dedicating it to her beloved pet pooch Floyd who had sadly passed away.
There was also drama last month when a Bangerz tour bus carrying Miley’s mother Tish and sister Noah erupted into flames. Thankfully all passengers and the driver had vacated the bus and no one was injured.
A huge commercial success, The Bangerz World Tour has attracted criticism from some over Miley’s sexualised on stage antics.
