Michael Jackson wanted to be Star War's Jar Jar Binks
Michael Jackson wanted to play Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars films.
Star Wars actor Ahmed Best who played the annoying, comic character Jar Jar Binks in the three prequel films has revealed that he had some competition for the role.
In a recent interview with Vice.com he revealed that Michael Jackson had asked George Lucas if he could play the foolish, bumbling character. A strange request you might think, but the 'King of Pop' was a big fan of Star Wars and even had life size statues of Darth Vader, Boba Fett and C-3P0 at his Neverland Ranch which were sold off after his death.
According to Ahmed, Michael Jackson wanted to play Jar Jar Binks with full prosthetics, similar to his Thriller video, but George had a different idea. "George wanted to do it in CGI." Ahmed told Vice.com, "my guess is ultimately Michael Jackson would have been bigger than the movie, and I don't think he wanted that."
Despite his phenomenal music career Michael Jackson's acting career never took off with him playing just a handful of parts including a scarecrow in the 1978 film 'The Wiz' and Agent M in 'Men in Black II'.
