Devin Lima of the boy band LFO (formerly Lyte Funkie Ones) has died aged 41 after losing his year-long battle with stage four cancer.

Fmaily members confirmed to TMZ that the star, real name Harold Lima, died in the early morning of Wednesday November 21st.

LFO were big in the 1990s, with their biggest hits being 'Summer Girls', 'Girl On TV', and 'Every Other Time'.

The band were originally a trio consisting of Rich Cronin, Brian 'Brizz' Gilli and Brad Fischetti; though Brian left in 1999 after growing frustrated with the lack of progress the group were making.

When LFO held open auditions to replace Brian, they found Devin and took him on as replacement.

Rich tragically passed away back in 2010 following a fight with leukemia. The group then disbanded the same year, before deciding to reunite as a duo in 2017.

The group had been planning to tour earlier this year, but it was then cancelled after doctors found a football-sized tumour on Devin's adrenal gland. When doctors removed the tumour they found it was malignant; turning out to be stage four cancer.

At the time of Devin's diagnosis the band's publicist said LFO were 'distraught' and hoped to see Devin 'back on stage doing what he does best.'

LFO's first UK hit was 'Summer Girls'. Released in 1999, it hit number 16 on the singles chart. The band's highest-charting track was follow-up 'Girl on TV', which reached number 6. They've sold over 4 million records worldwide; with their last release being 2017's 'Perfect 10'.

Our thoughts are with Devin's family and friends at this time.
