Kym Marsh recounts the emotional meeting with the lady who saved her daughter's life
Her daughter was seven weeks premature

Back in 2011, Coronation Street star Kym Marsh gave birth to her daughter Polly seven weeks early, and it was 'touch and go' as to whether she would survive. However, thanks to the amazing NHS staff, Polly pulled through and now Kym has had the opportunity to meet some of the staff who helped save her daughter's life.
On today's episode of Lorraine, Kym reflected on the moment she met up with one of the staff all these years later, Kym confessed, “It was wonderful to see Kath with Polly. She hasn’t seen her since she left the unit, which was seven years ago now. Explaining to Polly who Kath was and to see her say thank you was lovely and we all got a little emotional."
The Coronation Street actress went on to explain how her whole pregnancy had been "touch and go", saying, "I was in and out of hospital a lot. We knew she was going to be premature, we didn’t know how premature."
She went on to remind viewers that this was just her experience, however the staff are doing it every day.
Kym has previously spoken about the premature birth of Polly, who she shares with former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas. Despite splitting some some time ago, Kym and Jamie are on good terms.
Speaking earlier this year to OK! magazine Kym said, "The odds were against Polly surviving, she’s our little miracle. She’s grown into a beautiful, bright girl. I’m so proud of her, especially when I think of how it could’ve been."
Kym, who has played the role of Michelle Connor in Coronation Street for 12 years, was then asked if she would be getting back with her ex Steve on the show, to which she replied, “Everyone says this to me all the time. They always say we are very much the Ross and Rachel of Coronation Street."
Away from Coronation Street, in real life, Kym has confirmed she is in a new relationship. Kym broke up from her boyfriend of two years Matt Baker earlier this year, but after months of speculation, Kym has now confirmed that she's seeing someone new, revealing all in her column for OK! magazine.
She wrote, 'It is true is that I've started seeing someone new in recent weeks, his name is Scott Ratcliff and he's a Major in the Parachute Regiment and he lives and works away quite a lot.'
She explained that they'd been snapped together on her birthday and that this is when speculation began swirling around the pair, adding, 'I genuinely wasn’t looking for a new relationship after my split from Matt.
'Both Scott and I were recently single – him some time before I was, he’s a good friend of Antony Cotton, who introduced us knowing we’d get on well, which turned out to be true.'
Tonight, to celebrate the NHS's 70th anniversary, Kym and Polly are reunited with the nurse who helped save Polly's life, as Kym returns to singing in the one-off special NHS Singalong Live.
Kym Marsh appeared on Lorraine which continues weekdays on ITV.
