Kanye West settles paparazzi lawsuit
The court case was due to start next week
Kanye West has settled an ongoing lawsuit with a photographer, after offering a handshake and apology.
The rapper was sued by Daniel Ramos after the photographer claimed that Kanye attacked him outside of an LA airport.
However Gloria Allred, the lawyer representing Ramos, says that the case is now resolved – one week before the trial was due to begin.
A photo has appeared online appearing to show West shaking hands with Ramos and smiling.
The lawsuit claimed that West attacked Ramos in 2013 after the paparazzo asked the rapper why he wouldn’t talk to photographers.
“Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question,” said a statement by Allred.
She also said that all other details relating to the legal agreement will not be made public, but the apology was important to the deal.
Kanye West’s lawyer has made no comment regarding the settlement.
The rapper pleaded no contest last year to misdemeanour battery over the reported attack.
He remains on probation.
