Former Hollyoaks actress Ali Bastian has announced she is engaged to her boyfriend David O'Mahony, following an 18-month relationship.
Ali, who played the role of Becca Dean in the soap between 2001-2007, revealed her happy news during a recent interview with OK! Magazine.
After revealing they have already started planning the wedding, David told the publication about the moment he popped the question.
He said, "I was 99.99% sure that she’d say yes, but there was still a scary but exciting feeling. Moments after I proposed to Ali I felt this huge amount of relief that I didn’t have to keep the secret any more!"
And it sounds like the couple want to go all out to celebrate their big day. Admitting David's proposal took her by 'surprise', Ali revealed the couple are planning three separate celebrations, including a cocktail party, a blessing in Bali and a wedding in London.

Ali first joined the cast of Hollyoaks back in 2001 and her character Becca Dean was involved in a number of high profile storylines.
The most controversial was when her character was sacked from her teaching job and sent to prison for having an affair with one of students, after he falsely accused her of 'child grooming'.
Becca was then killed off from the soap in 2007 after she was stabbed by one of her fellow inmates in prison.
Since leaving Hollyoaks, Ali has appeared on a number of other TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing in 2009. Despite impressing viewers, Ali and her dance partner Brian Fortuna finished in third place.
