Proposal of application notice to erect eight wind turbines

Author: Kathryn AndersonPublished 5th Jan 2024

Green Cat Renewables has submitted a proposal of application notice (PAN) for a wind farm with eight giant turbines to be developed on the Ochil Hills.

Perth and Kinross councillors will have a chance to raise any concerns or issues they would like addressed as part of the planning process at a meeting next week.

The PAN to erect eight turbines near Carnbo – about halfway between Kinross and Dollar – will go before Perth and Kinross Council’s Planning and Placemaking Committee on Wednesday, January 10.

The proposal has been submitted by Green Cat Renewables on behalf of applicant Jason Morin. The development site is about a mile North East of Earnieside Farmhouse, Dunning Glen, Dollar.

The proposal would see up to eight three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbines with tips reaching 180 and 200 metres high. The height would be the equivalent of 41 or 45 double decker buses piled on top of each other.

Two public exhibitions were held at Carnbo Village Hall on 14 November and Dunning Village Hall on November 15.

Further public consultation events will take place on Tuesday, January 23 from 3.30- 7.30pm at Carnbo Village Hall and on Wednesday, January 24 at Dunning Village Hall, from 3.30-7.30pm.
