A specialist police dog based in Tayside is heading for retirement after 7 years of work.

PD Reggie, a springer spaniel, will be resting his paws in his well earned retirement after trading in his 'Pawtrol car' for a sofa.

He served the force as a specialist search dog.

Police Scotland say his retirement plans include napping, belly rubs on demand and squirrel surveillance.

A spokesperson said: "Thanks for your service Reggie. Keep that tail wagging."
