Arrests made after spate of Tayside break ins

Police say they expect further arrests to be made

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a number of break-ins across Tayside.

Over the past week, police have received several reports of break-ins at commercial premises, homes and vehicles in Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Birkhill and Coupar Angus.

The 18 and 20-year-old men appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

Police say enquiries remain ongoing into these other incidents and further arrests are expected.

Detective Chief Inspector Keith Duncan, Tayside CID, said: “I would urge everyone to remain vigilant with regards to their premises and property and bring any concerns to our attention.

“You can see our tips and crime prevention advice on how to keep your property safe and secure on our website. If anyone with a commercial premises feels they would benefit from a visit from one of our crime prevention officers, please get in touch for this to be arranged.

“Officers are carrying out regular patrols of the area and I would like to reassure the public.”
