A 13-year-old boy has been left "shaken" following the robbery of an electric scooter.

The incident took place at around 5:40pm on Tuesday (23rd January 2024), at the junction of Finavon Street and Fintry Drive, when a white car pulled up beside the teenager and a young male passenger exited the vehicle and demanded he hand over the scooter.

The youngster was assaulted as he tried to leave.

The suspect took off with the scooter along Fintry Drive and was followed by the white car.

Police say the suspect is described as being between the age of 15-16 years old with a tanned complexion and dark and wet hair.

He was wearing a black North Face puffy jacket and back joggers and spoke with a deep voice. He was between 5ft 2 and 5ft 5.

Detective Constable Danielle Hunter, from Dundee CID, said: “This unprovoked attack and robbery left the young victim shaken, but thankfully uninjured.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries and are appealing for anyone with information on the robbery or the scooter to please come forward.

“We are also keen to hear from any motorists who were in the area around the time and may have potential dashcam footage.”

The scooter is a black-coloured KugooM4 Pro, with green, red and blue lights.
