Shop worker 'threatened' during armed robbery at Dundee newsagents

Police are investigating as they appeal for witnesses to come forward

Police in Dundee are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a newsagents in the city.

The incident happened at around 4.50am on Saturday at Forbes Newsagents on Clepington Road.

A man entered the store and threatened the female shop worker with a weapon, demanding money.

He left the premises a short time later on foot with a three-figure sum of cash.

He is described as being aged in his twenties, around 5ft 10ins tall of slim build, and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Detective Constable Iain McIntosh said: “Officers are conducting enquiries and the investigation is at an early stage.

“We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of this robbery and may have seen a person in dark clothing acting suspiciously, or observed running away from the area, to get in touch with officers as soon as possible.
